38. The Wisdom of Business Winters: how to honour slow & decay seasons with trust & grace

Elaira Tickute

Last year, my business went into decay—a deep winter season.

At first, I resisted, frustrated that things weren’t moving forward, weren’t growing as I wished for. But when I finally surrendered, the wisdom could finally emerge. I discovered the medicine and gifts hidden in that stillness, in slowing down with my business too. It's a bit more normalised and easier to slow down in personal life but business?

Business isn’t a straight upward climb. It moves like nature does—in cycles. Expansion, contraction. Death, rebirth. Growth isn’t just about moving forward; it’s about knowing when to rest, when to shed, and when to bloom again.

What if we could learn to embrace, honor, and hold each phase with grace instead of fighting and resisting it?

What if we stopped fighting these natural seasons? What if we learned to trust them instead? The art of surrender.

In this my new podcast episode, I share my journey through business winter, what it taught me, and how we can redefine success by working with—not against—the natural rhythms of life and business.

Please share with people who need to hear it.
